Ponteceso´s coastline
The different heights reached by the tides and the force of the waves help define a series of strips of land that allow us to get a glimpse of the great biodiversity on Ponteceso´s coastline.
Freshwater fish or saltwater fish?
We'll find several species of freshwater and saltwater fish in the River Anllóns. The figures of the "anguleiros" were common on winter nights as they walked along the "malecón" with their flashlight and the "trueiro" to catch a typical species of these waters, eels.
The botanical richness of Ponteceso´s coastline
The coastline of the province of A Coruña is home to many species of plants – many of them endangered – growing in the peculiar environments created by the interaction between the sea and the land, such as the Anllóns estuary.
The birds of Ponteceso
The fact that this stretch of coast Ponteceso is included in an SPA (Special Protection Area for Birds) gives us an idea of the ornithological importance of Ponteceso coast.
